Cimarron Software specializes in web sites that require a live scripted "smart" real time database engine in the background. We have a great deal of experience in all aspects of "Database Publishing" including publishing to the WEB and can turn any of our database projects into a direct web site using the database data directly either in real time or as a separate feed to an online system as records are released. We have several large sites running since 1997/1998. Typically, our database engine and web server are combined into one compiled application. There are no calls being made across the network to the database. The database engine itself supports and accepts Internet port calls directly. This can result in some very fast database driven web sites.
- Hosting Facility
All of our servers are hosted in a hardened Tier-1 Telco-Class Data Center with redundant systems, diverse fiber entrances, and isolated power distribution units with it's own Onsite Diesel Generator. All projects are segregated and protected within our own self-contained racks.
Our data center is staffed 24 hours a day and monitored by a comprehensive security system incorporating proximity card readers, attended sign in/out records, 2 factor access, and video surveillance and recording in all areas for strict security control. No public access is permitted under any circumstances. The data center includes 24-hour HVAC with redundant air units to maintain an optimal server environment. The data center provides diverse cabling paths to the server racks, and all servers receive conditioned power and 24-hour individual monitoring.
The data center is provided power from a Dual Independent Public Utility Distribution Grid, utilizes Enterprise Class N+1 Power Distribution Units, and Enterprise Class N+1 UPS systems with 2n+1 A/C and Inergen fire suppression.
All servers in the data center are placed on Foundry Big Iron 8000 switches that are connected to a Cisco 12000 router to ensure that information is transmitted in the fastest way possible. Our bandwidth is not stopped down or "regulated" in any way by an ISP account. All our servers have unfettered access to the Internet backbone with the only limitation being the 100 MB switch each individual server machine is connected to within its rack.
The data center is connected to the Internet through seven backbones. These include UUNet OC3, Sprint OC3, ATT, ATT DS3, Digex DS3, Time Warner DS3, and Level 3 OC3.

Our web server engine supports a maximum of 32,000 concurrent web processes. Since there are no application-to-application communications across the physical OS or network levels, and all disk access calls are from within the data engine communications with DOS at the lowest levels, our round-trip times from user to data to user are extremely fast and efficient.

Backup Systems & Monitoring
All live projects are redundantly backed up to separate hardware in rack and to Dell NAS Storage Server (HSM1), and to off site computers in our office nightly. Operating system level backups are performed daily to Dell LTO Tape backup with 2 autoloader (HSM2).
Real time hardware and application monitoring and Offsite real-time hardware and application monitoring is done by "Whats Up Gold" as well as with our own software product "Cimarron Web Monitor" that informs us via email + SMS telephone & beeper when a request is not answered within a specified amount of time. This not only makes us aware of total system failure but also of system "slowdown."
- Wide Area Network (WAN)-Served Applications
WAN Hosting: We not only host websites, we also host several WAN databases, making large scale live database projects available to people around the world at once. These WAN hosting projects are typically too complex to bring to a web interface. Many of them are actually management data entry projects that feed the live real time data used by a corresponding web site. Most of our database projects can be configured for WAN access. Remote Users access the database via a "Thin Client" connection with the data housed within our facility. Users can log-in, review the data, modify, create, or delete records and information as needed. This is the ultimate way for multiple participants to access the same database at the same time.
These multi-user databases are published using "4DServer" and can exchange real-time WAN Data with an Internet database Web-Served "Product".
